I don’t usually wear a lot of animal prints, but when I saw this A.L.C. sweater on Poshmark a few months ago, I was drawn to the colors. The black and tan tiger print sweater (which can be found on sale here in size M) resembled a more interesting version of plain stripes, and the neutral color palette is just my style.
June was a good month for getting some crazy deals. As seen on my Utility Thrift post, one of my favorite finds of the month was a military green Fossil jacket for only $8. When bargain hunting, I find it rare that I ever find exactly what I’m looking for, so I keep my options open (shopping off-season is usually best, because there is more merchandise, and less people going through it). Finding this jacket was a major score! Goodwill also came through again the next time I went with a simple James Perse white shirt that hadn’t ever been worn for $4.
Confession: I’m addicted to boots. I’m always on the lookout for a good pair (but never want to spend a lot, of course). A couple weeks ago, I ended up finding 2 great pairs of boots on the same day on Poshmark. The first pair are over the knee Alexander Wang boots with a cutout at the heel, which I’ve been eyeing for a couple years, but didn’t want to spend too much. These are in great shape, and I ended up getting them for $80 which is more than I like to spend, BUT…when I’ve been searching for them for this long, it’s worth it to me. Well, an hour-ish later, I spotted a fabulous pair of YSL ankle booties and thought the $35-price tag was a type-o. It wasn’t a type-o…MAJOR SCORE! They retailed for $1,200!
I did a decent amount of shopping in April to find things for our wedding and honeymoon trip, and I was proud of myself for not shopping online at all while we were gone (this is a hard one for me)! I am combining the last two months again since I didn’t get time to post with all of the planning that was going on.
This time around, I had a couple purchases from regular, non-outlet retailers which is unusual for me (but that doesn’t mean I paid full price). I was on the hunt for a good sandal for walking around in Greece that were comfortable, and I kept hearing about these Rebecca Minkoff gladiators. Nordstrom now has price match, so they were actually marked down to $91 from $125. I had been saving up some of my Norstrom Notes (as I have the N debit card), so I only ended up paying $34, which I deemed acceptable. The sandals are fantastic and I am definitely glad I bought them (although they are a pain in the butt to buckle every time…so plan to not take your shoes off the entire day). The next thing I bought was an Equipment silk tank top in my favorite snakeskin print. I passed on this top at Neiman Marcus Last Call a few months ago because I didn’t want to spend $60. Well, I got an email from Equipment to complete a survey and get a $50 credit to use on their site, so I took the 30+ minute survey (obviously). This top was on sale for $60 on their website, and free shipping, so I paid a total of $14 with tax for this shirt!
