Spring in Texas means there’s one thing you’ll start seeing on the side of every road you drive on: Bluebonnets. We missed out on getting pictures in the fields of flowers last year, so this time we made a trip down to Waco, and took the back-roads in hopes of seeing some blue. We found a great spot off the road to pull off and take some pictures of the blue and orange flowers
Our small town has quite a few festivals throughout the year, and a couple weekends ago was the Harvest Moon Festival. There were country singers, food vendors, mini ponies for the kids, and lots of people set up to sell their artwork; Tommy and I had a great time walking around and chowing down on some Texas BBQ! The festival was held at our town square, which is home to the old Granbury Theatre. Since I was wearing a monochrome back and while outfit, I fit in perfectly with the Theatre entrance, and naturally had to take photos there.
I don’t usually wear a lot of animal prints, but when I saw this A.L.C. sweater on Poshmark a few months ago, I was drawn to the colors. While some states are already experiencing sweater-weather, Texas is still hanging on to the summer heat. I took advantage of the cooler, rainy morning this weekend and put on my J Brand leather vest, and a hat to protect my hair from the rain (obviously). By the time the afternoon rolled around, the sun came out and the vest came off.
Everyone knows that the statement necklace has been “in” for a while now, and it has gone through the evolutions: neon colors, chunky golds, pretty pastels…now, it’s all about the silver boho-style necklaces, and the bigger the better. I had started to see them on bloggers and decided I wanted one, but then I saw the prices.
If you do indeed come across the yellow brick wall on Rosedale St. in Fort Worth, you must stop. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a good ice cream cone, and the one I had from Melt Ice Creams is now a top 5 favorite. They only have a handful of flavors, but the day we went, they also had two vegan flavors! I’m by no means vegan (gimme that meat), but to be able to enjoy ice cream without having to take a Lactaid pill is magnificent,
