If you do indeed come across the yellow brick wall on Rosedale St. in Fort Worth, you must stop. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a good ice cream cone, and the one I had from Melt Ice Creams is now a top 5 favorite. They only have a handful of flavors, but the day we went, they also had two vegan flavors! I’m by no means vegan (gimme that meat), but to be able to enjoy ice cream without having to take a Lactaid pill is magnificent,
What kind of shirt do you wear when it’s 106 out in Texas? One with built-in ventilation, of course! Seriously though, it really does help to have your shirt full of holes. I picked up this IRO top from Poshmark last week for $38, and I want to wear it every day. This color is on major trend right now, and for good reasons; it’s flattering on basically all skin tones, and it’s easy to style with other colors.
June was a good month for getting some crazy deals. As seen on my Utility Thrift post, one of my favorite finds of the month was a military green Fossil jacket for only $8. When bargain hunting, I find it rare that I ever find exactly what I’m looking for, so I keep my options open (shopping off-season is usually best, because there is more merchandise, and less people going through it). Finding this jacket was a major score! Goodwill also came through again the next time I went with a simple James Perse white shirt that hadn’t ever been worn for $4.
Confession: I’m addicted to boots. I’m always on the lookout for a good pair (but never want to spend a lot, of course). A couple weeks ago, I ended up finding 2 great pairs of boots on the same day on Poshmark. The first pair are over the knee Alexander Wang boots with a cutout at the heel, which I’ve been eyeing for a couple years, but didn’t want to spend too much. These are in great shape, and I ended up getting them for $80 which is more than I like to spend, BUT…when I’ve been searching for them for this long, it’s worth it to me. Well, an hour-ish later, I spotted a fabulous pair of YSL ankle booties and thought the $35-price tag was a type-o. It wasn’t a type-o…MAJOR SCORE! They retailed for $1,200!
